There is hardly anything that makes children’s eyes light up more during Advent than a festively decorated Christmas tree. The smell of needles, the sparkling lights and the colorful balls make it the center of Christmas. Christmas tree coloring pages are the perfect way to increase the anticipation of the holiday and creatively shorten the waiting time for Santa Claus.
When coloring in the coloring pages, children become their own decorators. You decide whether the tree will be decorated in the classic way with red balls and gold stars or whether it will be very colorful and modern. Maybe the tree is deep in the snowy forest or cozy in the warm living room full of presents? Each picture invites you to create your own little Christmas world and find peace in the process.

Instructions for Christmas tree coloring pages
In order for the Christmas tree to look really festive on paper, a good choice of colors is important. Different shades of green (dark green for the fir tree, light green for light reflections) make the tree appear lively. Bright colors such as red, gold, silver and blue are ideal for jewelry.
Simple Christmas tree coloring pages with large shapes and few details are suitable for small children. Here you can practice coloring the round balls. Older children love trees with lots of small pendants, candles and tinsel where precision is required. A special tip: Use gold and silver pens or glitter glue for the tree top and the balls – this creates real Christmas magic!

6 creative ideas with Christmas tree coloring pages
Make a 3D Christmas tree Print out two identical trees on sturdy paper. After coloring, cut them both out. Cut one tree from top to middle and the other from bottom to middle. Put the two parts together – you now have a standing 3D tree as a table decoration.
Personal Christmas cards A lovingly painted Christmas tree, glued to a red or green folding card, is the most beautiful Christmas greeting for grandma and grandpa. Decorated with a little glitter, the card looks very elegant.
Gift Tags Reduce the size of the coloring pages when printing. The little trees are perfect for cutting out, punching holes and hanging on Christmas presents. You can write the recipient’s name on the back.
Window pictures with snow effect Paint the tree and coat the back with oil to make it transparent. Stick it on the window. You can also simulate a snowy landscape with some cotton wool on the edge of the window.
Wish tree Let the children paint small symbols of their wishes (e.g. a bicycle, a doll, peace) into the balls of the tree, not colors. This makes the coloring picture a very special wish list.
Paper tree decorations Cut out the colored tree, laminate it (or glue it to cardboard) and make a hole in the top. With a beautiful ribbon, this paper tree can be hung on the real Christmas tree as a pendant.
